Get to Know Discovery City Church
People continue to flood into the Columbus metro area for its vast job opportunities, educational institutions, family friendly communities, vibrant culture and entertainment scene and so much more. And in 2017, the Columbus suburb of Canal Winchester was the fastest growing city in all of Ohio.
That’s a lot of people. People like us and people like you who may be hurting, broken, lonely, confused, struggling, worn out by the cares of life, or searching for answers, looking for meaning, desperate for help, seeking connection, or ready to step out in faith. Whatever your story, struggle, or need, our goal is to help you discover authentic new life in Christ and develop a growing relationship with Him.
A Brand-New Church for Canal Winchester
God brought together a team, under the leadership of Pastor Caleb York and his wife Amanda, with passion and vision to serve individuals and families in Canal Winchester, Ohio, and surrounding areas. We converged on Canal Winchester in the summer of 2018 from multiple locations in Western Pennsylvania and Missouri. We officially launched with our first Sunday worship experience on October 14, 2018.
We meet every Sunday in Indian Trail Elementary to worship and learn together and to encourage each other to grow in faith. We are a Baptist community, committed to Biblically based teaching and guidance in all we do.
We’ve been praying for you and we are prepared to serve you. God has changed our lives, both now and forever, and we know he wants to change yours, too.
Lead Pastor Caleb York
Discovery City Church is guided by Lead Pastor Caleb York. A follower of Christ for 20 years, God called Caleb to preach when he was just in middle school. After spending his youth ministering alongside his traveling evangelist father, then obtaining his B.S. in Pastoral Studies and serving as a youth pastor for many years, God called Caleb to plant a new church. God laid Canal Winchester on his heart, and he and his family stepped out in faith to go.
Caleb is dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, seeing lost people saved, and seeing believers thriving and serving together in community.
